Between the Notes
Some pieces come to an end without everything having truly been said.
Sometimes, after the final note, a silence remains that is not empty. Within it, memories, fleeting moments, and thoughts find their place — things that no longer seem to belong anywhere in particular, yet still resurface from time to time.
Eighteen steps. Eighteen notes. Perhaps just a moment of stillness, when you realise that not everything has disappeared simply because it has grown quiet.
I believe music can preserve something without needing to hold on to it. It allows memories to exist without asking them to return.
And sometimes, you don’t need to know where a melody is leading. It is enough that it is still allowed to sound somewhere.
Not every silence is a final chord. Some music simply remains unresolved.
And some doors don’t need to be left open for you to know that one day, you may knock.
